I'm a therapist seeking a consult
Why therapy?
Ever felt like thisYou just got off the phone with your family, tears rolling down your cheeks. You called them because you’d thought it would be nice to hear their voices. It’s been a while, after all.
And now you remember why it’s been a while. The conversation was the same as always: they’re happy you called, they miss you, they’re concerned, and why aren’t you feeling better yet? And then the advice that always hurts more than it helps.
Why can’t they understand how difficult this is, dealing with all these emotions? The flashes of terrifying memory, the fear that numbs you all over? You know this isn’t normal or rational, but you can never feel safe, not even at home.
You just wish there was someone you could talk to
After experiencing trauma, you have enough pressure from yourself and others to get better. You may find that your friends and family don’t know how to support you. This can lead to isolation, loneliness, a sense of feeling trapped.
At therapy, we will listen to your struggles and support your decisions. Our role is to help you learn what works best for you, to help you find your identity in a space free of judgment or influence.
Processing your trauma
Trauma can affect people in many ways. Often, you can find yourself reliving the traumatic events. This is normal.
We can help you learn how to regulate and eliminate these intrusive thoughts and emotions.
Therapy is about you, and your needs. Know that it is possible to feel better – that you can find the growth and the strength you’re looking for. We’re here to help.
